1When are you reopening and how can I book?
We will reopen on Friday 3rd July - bookings are essential, you can call the reception to book via 028 8676 2224. Soon our smartphone app will allow you to order food & drinks directly to your table & to make a reservation. The hotel will reopen for guests on Friday 3rd July. Initially, we will be closed on Monday, however, we will review this on a weekly basis. Please note as we adapt to our 'new normal' procedures & services may be slightly altered - this is to keep our staff & customers safe.
2What social distancing measures do you have in place?
At all times, we will be following government restrictions and IHF guidelines in regard to social distancing. Our restaurants, bars and meeting rooms will all be set up in compliance with current regulations and all public areas will have signage and easy to see markings to ensure guests are confident in following the social distancing measures we have in place.
3Can I dine in the bar & garden?
Yes, although some things may be a little different now to ensure all social distancing measures and government restrictions are being followed. Squires Bar & the Garden will be open. Please call to book. Lounge Tues 12 – 7 Wed 12 – 8 Thurs 12 – 8 Fri 12 – 8 Sat 12 – 9 Sun 12 – 7 These times will vary as we progress
4Can I dine in the restaurant / dining room?
Yes, please see our opening times - We will be open from Thursday - Sunday in the restaurant & will continually review this. Thurs 12 – 3pm / 5 – 8pm Fri 12 – 3 / 5 – 8pm Sat 12 – 9pm Sun 3 – 7pm Please be aware our menu will be shortened at this time to allow social distancing for our staff. Only dishes on the menu is available, this will be reviewed & changed as things progress
5Are kids welcome in the hotel?
We are a Family Run Hotel. We must, however, for now, request that your children remain seated with your party while in public areas. Please also remind your children of the importance of washing their hands. Children are always welcome at The Royal Hotel. We would ask that they remain supervised. We have a beautiful garden so please feel free to use this area (weather permitting).
6Are there restrictions on the number of people allowed in the hotel?
Yes, we have a reduced capacity to allow for social distancing & thank you for following the guidelines. We will continually review and follow all government guidelines.

9Rigorous Protocols Cleaning
Protac Anti Bacterial film on all handles Covid safety strategy to ensure the welfare of our guests & team come first. Rigours cleaning schedule with these measures in place we hope you can feel at home and have a relaxing visit with us. Team:- Completed certified training in Covid 19 cleaning & prevention.
10Use of Toilets
Toilets:- • Only enter when waiting marker is free • 1 person at the sink at a time. • At peak times we will have additional facilities available. We have thorough guidelines in place to reduce the risk of Coronavirus, if you have any queries or suggestions please let us know. Relax & enjoy
11Booking & Carvery Booking
BOOK • Arrive at allocated time slot to allow smooth flow for all customers. • 105 min allocated for each seating during peak times. • If you have any symptoms or feel unwell please contact reception to reschedule your booking. • Deposits may be required & charged in event of a no show. CARVERY MUST BE PRE BOOKED • Advise on dietery requirements when booking. • When you Arrive you sanitise station sanitise your hands. • Follow signage, check in at reception. We would ask only 1 person ques. Rest of your guests please make your way to your table. • You will be called for each course of your meal one table at a time, which will be served by staff. • Please use social distancing signage & hand sanitiser throughout your visit. • Present your ticket for chef at Main Course • Staff will clear your table while your getting your next course.   Tables will be allocated pre arrival to allow smooth transition between guest bookings. If you have specific requests for your visit please make us aware at the time of booking. We will endeavour to accommodate where possible but can’t guarantee table allocation. Please note due to social distancing our table numbers have also changed.
12What to expect when you arrive - PPE & our staff
What to expect when you arrive? PPE staff safety • Please sanitise your hands. • Follow signage to check in at reception. • You will be allocated your table. • When you arrive at your table it will be set specifically for your party with name on table and signed sanitisation checklist for your confidence. If you require any additional sauces please alert a member of staff as our condiments dresser is a sanitised station.

ARRIVAL We have limited tables due to social distancing with both our staff & customers safety in mind. We request you please book table in advance. Ring before you arrive to avoid disappointment & allow smooth greeting on arrival. Book via telephone or booking system which is now available online,
14Can I just come for drinks?
At the moment following government guidelines food must be purchased alongside your drinks. Booking will be required. From 8.30 beer and bites menu will be available and this will be your table for the evening.
15How long can I stay at my table?
We will be operating 105 minute table slot during peak times. Please don’t be offended when advised at time of booking. Our 8.30 table slot on a Saturday night will ensure your table for the evening.
16The Bar
Bar Our bar counter is closed to the public for both customer & staff safety. Table service will be provided. Music will be available in Squires Lounge but at this time we must emphasis there will be no dance floor to comply with social distancing. Outdoor space can be booked for drinks only weather permitting. Indoor table bookings must be accompanied by food following government guidelines. How many people can sit at my table? Contact reception with any queries. We can accommodate different variations of tables with smaller private rooms available for the prefect family get together.
17Delivery & Take Out Food
Delivery We are still providing elderly & vulnerable dinner delivers as we all begin to get used to the ‘new norm’. We understand some people may not feel comfortable or be able to visit. Available 7 days a week pre booking in advance is essential. Order lines are available Tuesday & Thursday. Our collection service is also available but again will need to be pre booked. Limited slots available including afternoon tea to go.

Payment Preferred by card at the table, if you wish to pay by cash please go to reception. At this time we cannot split bill. Any queries with your bill please check with server at your table. On departure each area will be sanitised following new procedures before next booking can be seated. We hope this runs smoothly. You may need to wait at reception while we prepare safe environment for you to dine.
